Goodal Phytowash Yerba Mate Bubble Peeling Review
Hey Dreamers and Creators!
Skincare is a family affair. That means no one left behind. My daughter and I have been into skincare for years but we never thought my husband would join in on the game too. I still remember the way he used to look at our hauls. 'How much skincare does one need?' he used to ask, ah if only he knew. So you can only imagine the surprise my daughter and I had early this year when he asked if there is something he can use from our stash. We thought about giving him a 3 step routine at first, however, we decided to ease him in instead (no need to scare him away before he even starts). He was just looking for a moisturizer so we gave him just that, a moisturizer. As the months went on, he became more and more interested in skincare (probably because I talk to him about it quite a bit too). Anyways, eventually, I found him secretly using my products. Ha, I was so happy I couldn't even be mad.
So, "What does all this have to do with this review?", you may ask. Well, in this review I am going to be sharing my thoughts and my husband's thoughts on the Goodal Phytowash Yerba Mate Bubble Peeling product. Yup, that is right, he tried this too. When he saw it bubbling on my face, he couldn't help but join in on the fun. He also became a hand model for a night as well, you will see later on. Anyways, let's get to it!

The ingredient list on this one is long. It has a couple of potential acne triggers, irritants, and also one allergen. Making this one product you have to be careful with. Originally, I wanted to try this product with my daughter too. However, since she has sensitive skin that is acne prone, she decided to skip trying this out.
Sodium Laureth Sulfate has a potential of being an acne trigger (3*) and irritant (2*). Triethanolamine has a potential of being an acne trigger (2*) and Olive (Olea Europaea) Fruit Oil has a potential of being an acne trigger (2*) as well. Butylene Glycol has a potential of being an acne tigger (1*).
*The value of potential acne trigger and irritant are rated from zero to five. The lower the number the better, as it means it has a less chance of happening.
There are also a few ingredients with potential safety issues as well. The most notable is the allergen Cocamide DEA. It is created with reacting the mixture of fatty acids from coconut oils and diethanolamine. Since it is an allergen, it has a safety of 7, which is quite high. (Safety rating is from 1-9, the lower the number the lower the hazard.)
Packaging: I was almost confused when I opened the box and poured out its contents. Out came the product and the disk/cap looking thing. (See image below). After a closer look, I found that it has the manufacturing date on it. So, it looks like the bottom of the product fell off. As you can see in the picture below, you can see another container inside the outer container. Even though the bottom fell off, the product is still intact and usable, it just did not stand well. I was eventually able to put the bottom back on.
The Goodal Phytowash Yerba Mate Bubble Peeling has a simple packaging with a pump opening. The box has English and Korean information. The pump is easy to use and the instructions are easy to follow.
Scent: I had a hard time pinpointing the scent of this product. It does not have a strong scent and really just smells clean.
Manufacturing date. |
Texture: When you first pump out the product, it is a cream serum as described. After you spread the product and wait, a lot of mini bubbles begin to appear.
Here is my husband and his one night hand model career. |
We did patch test the product first and found that it does not irritate our skin. The first time we used it, we followed the instructions initially but got a little carried away when it started to bubble. Instead of leaving the product on for 1 to 2 minutes to bubble, my husband and I left it on for almost 5 minutes. It did not feel irritating but leaving the product on longer did make our skin a bit red after. After that, we have pretty much follow the instructions time and have not come across any issues. As you can see in the picture below, the bubble peeling product did make a difference. My husband's right hand looks slightly brighter and less rough than his left hand. Similar results were found on our faces after we used the bubble peeling product. The bubble peeling product made my skin feel smooth and when I applied my BB cream the next morning, the application felt smoother. I found the best combo to be exfoliator then sheet mask. Both products really boosts each other's effects and it feels relaxing and soothing.
This is not a perfect peeling product though. As mentioned before, the ingredients should be taken into account before buying this product as some can be irritating. Similar to other bubbling-on-the-skin products, when it bubbles on the skin it can feel a bit ticklish. I only noticed it a little bit but it was a bit more ticklish for my husband. I imagine for those who are really ticklish, this bubble peeling product might not feel so great.
A comparison of his left and right hand after. The left hand used nothing while the right hand used the Goodal Phytowash Yerba Mate Bubbling Peeling product. |
Final Thoughts: This Goodal Phytowash Yerba Mate Bubble Peeling is a fun product to use but only if your skin can handle it. A look at the ingredient list shows that it is not an inviting product and it would not be suitable for everyone. However, for those looking for an exfoliator with a fun twist and can handle the product's ingredients, this could be a fun edition to your skincare routine. I definitely do not regret trying this out. Especially since I now have a (once a week) pamper night with my husband where we use this together. He still would not use sheet masks and he would not call these nights 'pamper nights' either, but it is a big step up.
Would I purchase it in the future? I have one more peeling product in my stash that I am eager to try (after I finish this one, of course). So, if that one does not take the cake, I will certainly buy this. Do I think this is worth a try? Think of your skin type first, can it handle this product? If the answer is no, than I think that answers that. However, if the answer is yes, than give it a shot. You might enjoy the entertaining aspects as much as I do.
