Memebox Mini K-Beauty Starter Kit Unboxing
Hey Dreamers and Creators!
How was your Thanksgiving and Black Friday? I hope it was wonderful! Did you get to eat lots of yummy food and shop until your heart's content? I hope so.
Today, I have an unboxing to share with you guys and the box being unboxed is Memebox's Mini K-Beauty Starter Kit. I was excited when I got this from Memebox to review (I am one of their ambassadors~). This is a great box in my opinion. It's pack full of samples, enough for a routine, perfect for those new to K-Beauty that wants to try out some products before buying the full sizes. Memebox actually has a new version of this on sale on their site right now for just $5. Totally worth it, in my opinion, if you are new to K-Beauty or you want to get a gift for your friends/family who are new to K-Beauty. I do hope they'll make more kits like this in the future, but for now, let's get to know this one!
This starter kit was originally being sold for $10. Not a bad price but since the Black Friday sales are still going on for Memebox, the new version is on sale for $5. Most of the items in the new kit and this one here are the same. The differences are the new version of the kit comes with a clear Memebox makeup pouch, a sample of the Enprani Dear By Bounce Cheese cream instead of the Goodal moisture sample, one sample of the Re:cipe by Nature Slowganic cleanser, and one Innisfree Green Tea Seed serum sample instead of 3.
Okay, back to the starter kit being unboxed here. This one came with 6 deluxe samples and 12 foil pouch samples. There are some products in here that I have full size versions of that I have already reviewed, some I haven't reviewed, some that I have been wanting to try but haven't got around to yet, and some that I haven't made up my mind on. Let's get to know them.
Botanic Farm Grain Ferment Cleansing Sherbet
Product Description: A cleanser formulated to remove the toughest makeup without striping or irritating the skin. It starts off as a sherbet like cleanser and melts to an oil form once it is applied to the skin. It works to melt away tough makeup and skin impurities. To use, scoop a small amount onto the back of hands. Apply the sherbet onto the face and massage in upwards circular motions. Once the sherbet turns into oil and has been massaged all over the skin, apply a bit of water to emulsify it. Massage a bit more and wash off with lukewarm water.
My Thoughts: I got my first full size of this Grain Ferment Cleansing Sherbet in the Botanic Farm box I purchased. This was one of the items I was most exited about from that box. I started testing it and fell in love with it. This has been my favorite first cleanser for the past couple of months. I know I haven't posted a review for it yet, but I will soon. I found this cleansing sherbet to be even better than the Banila Co. one I was using before. It's one of the best at cleansing even the toughest eye and lip makeup. Remember my little devil tint that stays on like nobody's business? Well, this cleanser did a number on that. Even I was surprised. I already have a back up for my current full size, that's how much I love it. Will share the full review soon.
Benton Honest Cleansing Foam
Product Description: A cleansing foam that cleanses away skin impurities. It can help to control sebum and balance the skin's moisture level. To use, wash the face with lukewarm water. Squeeze a pea size amount of the cleanser onto the palm of the hands or a bubble net and create a lather. Apply the foam onto the face and massage in circular motions. Wash off with lukewarm water.
My Thoughts: Not my favorite cleanser, actually not even close. I have reviewed a full version of this cleanser and there I shared why I was not fond of this cleanser. The main reasons why I wasn't fond of this cleanser was because it was drying and irritated my skin.
Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Skin
Product Description: A moisturizing and nourishing toner formulated with Jeju green tea and green tea seeds. It will leave the skin feeling moisturized and refreshed. To use, pour an adequate amount onto the palm of your hand and apply it onto the face and neck.
My Thoughts: This was the toner I was using before I discovered my current favorite. I really like a lot of Innisfree's skincare products because most don't irritate my sensitive skin. Plus they were one of the first Korean brand products I purchased, so you can say I sometimes have a soft spot for them. Not all of their products work for me though. However, this toner was good. It provided good moisture and felt soothing on my sensitive and acne prone skin, which was good. This is the toner I always fell back on when I was testing different toners and couldn't find a good one. This toner is also part of my basic routine, the routine that I fall back onto if my skin breaks out too much for whatever reason.
It's Skin Power 10 Formula
(Syn-ake, WH Effector, PO Effector, YE Effector, VO Effector)
Product Description: Effectors created to treat everyday skincare concerns. They are formulated with various vitamins and extracts that target skin concerns and reveal a better skin condition. To use, squeeze a few drops and apply it onto the face. Gently pat it into the skin for better absorption.
My Thoughts: I always thought these Powder 10 Effectors looked interesting but couldn't decide on which to get to try. There are just too many choices and I think that's why I couldn't decide. Here I got 5 of the effectors. I will most likely test them to see how my skin will react to them. I think I have the LI effector from a previous Memebox that I haven't gotten around to. The effectors are ampoules and I think these might be good for those with a limited budget but want to add an ampoule into the routine as they are fairly inexpensive.
Innisfree The Green Tea Seed Serum
Product Description: A hydrating and nourishing serum that works to balance the skin's moisture level. It's formulated with Jeju green tea, amino acids, and minerals to help prevent moisture loss. To use, take an appropriate amount and apply it to the face and neck.
My Thoughts: Another product that I have the full sizes of and have reviewed it in the past. My skin did like this serum but it wasn't love. The serum does contain ethanol, so those who are sensitive to ethanol should give it a skip. I was worried that it would cause issues to my sensitive skin since my skin has been sensitive to some other products with alcohol in the past, (I'm looking at you EH Wonder Pore). However, it seemed to have worked well on my skin, so I kept it in my routine. I'm almost done with my current bottle and I have another one that I might either gift it or use it myself. I do want to try the other serums in my stash though, so we shall see.
Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Lotion
Product Description: A light moisturizer that provides moisture to the skin without the heaviness of a cream. It's formulated with Jeju green tea ingredients to help nourish and balance the skin. To use, take an adequate amount and apply it to the face and neck.
My Thoughts: Like the Balancing Skin (toner), this lotion is part of my basic skincare routine. It doesn't add too much to my skin but it does not push it backwards either. Which is why I've kept it in my basic routine. As that is the routine I fall back on if my skin breaks out horribly. Aside from the basic routine, I also use this sometime in the summer, as it is a light moisturizer, its consistency is perfect for my combo to oily skin.
Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Cream
Product Description: A balancing cream that provides nourishment and moisture to the skin. It's formulated with Jeju green tea ingredients to provide deep moisture to the skin. The cream is light and absorbs easily. To use, take a good amount and apply it to the face and neck in a circular motion.
My Thoughts: I have tried the Balancing cream before, as I have many samples of it. However, I never bought the full size because it didn't wow me. I will be reviewing this as part of my Sample Saturday series soon. It is a moisturizing cream that absorbs into the skin easily. However, I want a cream that does more than just moisturize and have found others that do just that. I think if you are just looking for a moisturizing cream, then this is worth it. However, if you want your cream to do more than moisturize and nourish, then it would not hurt to look around first.
Goodal Moisture Barrier Cream
Product Description: A moisture barrier cream to help keep moisture locked in the skin. It has whitening and anti-wrinkle properties as well. To use, take an appropriate amount and apply it onto the face and neck.
My Thoughts: This product is new to me and I'm excited to test it out. I've heard good things about Goodal, so I do wonder how well this cream will work for me. I'm currently testing another product so this will have to wait, but it sounds like an interesting cream. It's said that this cream here is best for dry skin, so I wonder how my combo to oily skin will like it. Maybe mom will try it out since she has normal to dry skin.
Skin Food Black Sugar Mask Wash Off
Product Description: An exfoliator that removes dead skin to create a soft and radiant complexion. It can also help to decrease the number of blackheads and whiteheads. To use, cleanse face first. Apply it onto the skin and massage lightly before washing it off. To reduce skin irritation by the potentially abrasive sugar, you can add water, toner, cleansing oil, or facial oil to the wash off sugar mask, mix well, before applying it to the skin. You can also leave the mask on for 10 to 15 minutes before washing off.
My Thoughts: This is quite a popular product that has been around for ages. Skin Food has come out with various variations of it too, but I think the original is still a classic. Some time ago, I started to use sugar scrubs less and less on my face as it can be a bit too abrasive for my sensitive skin. However, I recently decided to try and mix this with cleansing oil (or facial oil if you have a lot to waste). It feels a bit less abrasive and massaging lightly also helps. I still don't think I would use sugar scrub mask too often, but once in a while still sound pretty good.
Cosrx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid
Product Descriptions: A liquid essence to help clear blackheads, dead skin cells, and more. It's also formulated with niacinamide which can help to brighten the skin.
Cosrx AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid
Product Descriptions: A chemical exfoliator that cleanses deep into the skin to help remove gunk and whiteheads. It can also help to reduce the appearances of fine lines, sun damages, and acne scaring.
Cosrx Advance Snail 96 Mucin Power Liquid
Producr Descriptions: An essence made with 96% snail mucin. It works to replenish nourishments to the skin while keeping its moisture in. It can prevent and repair skin damages to promote a healthier looking skin.
My Thoughts: I have been thinking about adding acids into my routine. I've only managed to add a Vitamin C serum in but have held off on others for now. I do want to slowly add them in but I am also worried about how my sensitive skin might react to them. So for now I've held it off. I will use these samples to patch test a bit to ensure that I at least won't be allergic to any of its ingredients. If I am not allergic or have any other negative reactions, I might get the full sizes to try.

Final Thoughts: Overall, this is a great box. I wish they could have provided a different foam cleanser sample, however, the rest of the box is really good. This is great as a gift or keep it for yourself. I usually like to keep samples of products that works for me even if I have the full sizes because I can take the samples with me when I travel. So I don't have to worry about packing my full sizes. I think I might pick up a couple of the kits on sale right now, they will make great gifts.
Until next time!
~Michelle
