Unboxing: Memebox Show Some Skin Mystery Box
It's been a while since I did a Memebox unboxing, actually, it has been a while since we (mom and I) purchased a Memebox. I actually kind of missed it, sort of.
If Memebox was a boy, this would be how I think of him: An ex-boyfriend you can't forget. When you were together, it was like heaven on Earth and you felt like anything is possible. You spoiled each other and fell in love quickly because you thought it was meant to be. Then it happened, you got comfortable, and the honeymoon times began to fade. The 2 of you search for goals in opposite directions. You tried to work things out but the distance was building up quickly and boom, it was over. There was nothing that can be done, because your interests differed and the love that was once so strong isn't there anymore. Sure, you still see each other ever now and then. Sometimes you walk pass each other quietly, other times you say hello or even have a short conversation. However, it will never be the same.
Yup, that's Memebox to us now. We still think of them and look at their site every now and then to see if there are any good boxes up for grabs. If we find something we like and think the price is good, we'll surely sweep it up before it is gone. However, Memebox has changed and they no longer appeal to Mom and I the same way they did before. It's a little sad because they introduced us to so many amazing brands that we might otherwise never try for ourselves and we are grateful for that. But that can't be helped. We still secretly hope Memebox will go back to the way it was before but only time will tell and it might never happen.
Okay, back on track. This was one of those rare new MemeEra boxes that intrigued me, so I purchased it. I actually purchased it due to the spoiler product, which you will see below. The Show Some Skin box costed $25 and I bought 2 additional Leaders masks to make it over $30 so I could get free shipping. I also used a 15% off code (which you can find on my beauty page) to save some money. For those who might have never heard of Memebox or want to know more about them, they are a Korean beauty company located in California that sell non-subscription beauty boxes as well as individual beauty products and their own line of makeup and masks. I have a 'What is Memebox' post where you can find more information about them as well as how they were before they changed.
Let's dig into the Show Some Skin Mystery box and see what goodies we got!

Secret Key Milk Brightening Toner
248ml, $12
Product Description: A brightening toner formulated with pomegranate extract, milk protein extract, potato extract, usnea estract, and pumpking extract and more. These extracts are hydrating, high in antioxidants, anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, promotes cell turnover and much more to help renew and bright skin complexion. To use, dispense the toner on cotton pad and wipe gently over the entire face in an upward and outward motions.
My Thoughts: This was the spoiler product that convinced me to get this box. I love trying out different Korean toners because most of them are not as astringent like as Western toners. They focus more on replenishing and adding nutrients to the skin instead. Since I don't have a favorite toner yet and still looking for a HG toner, I figured it won't hurt to give it a try.
Banila Co. Golden Aloe Mask Sheet
21ml, $2
Product Description: A moisturizing sheet mask mainly formulated with Aloe Vera plant extracts. Aloe is known to soothe skin and renew skin cells. It can act as a protective layer on the skin and lock in moisture to keep the skin soft of plump. Use after you've cleansed and toned the face. Take the sheet mask out carefully and spread over the face. Leave the mask on for 20 to 30 minutes then remove. Gently pat in any remaining essence.
My Thoughts: You guys know I love masks and have quite the collection. Some of my favorite mask ingredients include aloe. I am quite excited about this. Although, I've never tried any sheet masks from Banila Co., so this ought to be interesting. Hopefully, this will be a hit with me!
Banila Co. The Kissest Water Beam Tint
4.3g, $12, Seoul Sunset
Product Description: A moisturizing lip tint with a natural finish. The tint will keep the lips moisturized and its three dimensional pearls will give it a bright volume.
My Thoughts: When I first saw this product in the box, I thought, eh didn't they say no makeup in this box. That it was a skin care only box?! Upon reading the description card I found that they wrote "we cheated a little". Um, why didn't they mention this before? Instead of making us think it was a skincare only box! I felt like I was lied, so I emailed them about it. After some back and forth, I finally got my answer and you'll see it at the end.
By the way, their description card also mentions that this tint would be "subtle" and "natural". But honestly, this tint is orange and very sparkly and last time I check my lips aren't orange or sparkly, so which part of this tint seem natural or subtle?
Elisha Coy Snail Hydro Gel Eye Patch
3.5g, $5
Product Description: A hydrogel eye mask formulated with 70% purified snail secretion. Snail secretion is known to increase cell renewal and prevent signs of aging. It is rich with moisture and nourishment for the under eye area and provides a cooling sensation when applied. It works to tighten the under eye area and provide long lasting moisture. To use, remove the clear film on the patches and apply them on the under eye area. Remove the patches after 15 to 20 minutes.
My Thoughts: Eye masks are something I am always lacking in my mask department. I am very picky about them and despite the many that I've tried, only a few I like including a DIY one. I'm still on the look out for my HG eye mask. I consider Elisha Coy a new brand to me. I have seen their products on various websites, however, I have never tried any. So this eye patch will be my first Elisha Coy product to try. I am excited!
Banila Co. The Blacks Lip Essence
14g, $11
Product Description: A highly moisturizing lip essence formulated with aronia berries. These berries are packed full of nutrients and antioxidants. This lip essence contains black sugar and apricot seed grinds to gently exfoliate the lips when applied.
My Thoughts: Although this product is called a lip essence, which make it sound like a lip balm, it really isn't. Instead, it is more like a lip treatment. I would recommend using this as a night time treatment only. You guys know I love me some lip balms, lip masks, and scrubs because I am always battling dry/chapped lips. So I am very excited test this out for a long period then get back to you guys on how it is.
I am actually quite happy with this because I've been wanting to try It's Skin's Power 10 ampoules but had a hard time choosing which one because there are just so many. Well, now I have one to test and try out, so I can't wait to report back on it.

Final Thoughts: I am actually quite happy with this box. I will use just about every product in this box, except for that lip tint, but I am sure I can do something with it. The Memevalue of this box totaled to be $42, and I paid $25. Not super amazing, but it could be worse right? I think if I find a mystery Memebox in the future that really intrigues me, I might purchase it, but I will be extra picky. Still hoping that the old Memebox would come back some day.
Did you purchase any Memeboxes recently? Do you like the current Memebox or would you like them to go back to how they were?
