Mizon Cotton Shower Sheet Essence Review
Hey Dreamers and Creators, it's Helen!
How's your day? I just got off work not too long ago and decided to try out a new mask while I post this review. Today's review is for the Mizon Cotton Shower Sheet Essence (Dry) skin care product. My daughter (Michelle) got this in her Cleanse and Tone Memebox she purchased last year. Since she has combination to oily skin, she had no use for this and had listed it on her S/S page until I saw it and asked if I could try it. I have normal to dry skin and since these are for people with dry skin, I wanted to try it. She said sure and now here I am reviewing it. I've read pretty good reviews for Mizon products, although this was actually my first ever Mizon product so I wasn't sure what to expect.

the package has a zip-lock like seal to keep the sheet fresh |
However, when I opened the bag I discovered my first issue. The scent. You know those air freshener cubes, containers, etc. you put inside your car to keep it smelling, well, nice? Yeah, that's what these essence sheets smell like, car fresheners. The scent is really strong too. I never have issues with fragrance in products and can handle pretty strong scents but this is just not going to work. Whenever I sniff it, I think of my car freshener and that doesn't sound like something I want to put on my face.
The second issue is that these sheets don't stay put. If I use them as spot treatments for my dry patches I literally have to sit still. I can't move around like I normally would when I'm using a sheet mask. If I move around the same way with these essence sheets, they will fall off.
The third issue is that they are not as moisturizing as they claim to be. It feels nice when I put it on and it does feel moisturizing at first. However that feeling goes away and it does not last after you remove the essence sheets.
Aside from those three issues, these essence sheets do have some pluses. For one, the formula is really lightweight so it doesn't feel like your packing a lot onto your skin as the first step. For two, if using it as a spot treatment for dry areas is not working, you can always use these as toner sheets. I think if I can ever get over the scent, I would use them as toner sheets because using them as toner sheets means to scent goes away quicker and I won't be wasting a product. These sheet are not irritating on my skin, although I should mention that my skin is not sensitive or acne prone. I tried to have my daughter patch test it since she has sensitive skin and acne prone skin (so she might be able to give more information on whether it will be irritating on those skin types), however, she took one sniff and handed them back to me. I guess she doesn't want to put car freshener scent products on her face either.
My Rating: ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆
Final Thoughts: A little disappointed at my first Mizon product. After all the amazing reviews I've read about their products, this is a let down. Although my biggest issue with this product is its scent and that is a personal issue because everyone takes to scents differently. The idea that the sheets are not as moisturizing as it claims also added to the let down. I don't think I will be purchasing this Cotton Shower Sheet Essence in the future. However, I do want to try other Mizon products that I have read good reviews on. Maybe those will do a lot better of a job for my skin than these essence sheets.
See you all at my next post!
~Helen
