My Beauty Diary Sheet Masks Review & Giveaway Part 1 (Closed)
Hey Lovelies!
Do you remember the first sheet mask you've ever tried? I remember mine and it was a My Beauty Diary sheet mask. Ever since then, I have been trying out a lot of masks from sheet masks to jelly masks to clay masks to wash-offs and more. I've discovered a lot of new brands with masks that I love and I am consistently discovering new brands and trying out new masks. Still, I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for My Beauty Diary sheet masks, so it's about time I do a review on some of my favorites. Of course, I want to share these favorites, with you, my dear readers. So at the end of this review, there will be a giveaway! Let's get to it.
My Beauty Diary Collagen Firming Mask
Product Description: A facial sheet mask that works to firm the skin, add plumpness, and rejuvenate the skin for a healthier complexion. It contains some great extracts such as Aloe leaf extracts, ginseng root extracts, Centella Asiatica extracts, witch hazel, and orange extracts. Aside from firming the skin and adding plumpness, this facial mask can also brighten dull complexion. This sheet mask is suitable for tired and dull skin. Use after cleansed and toned face. Take the mask out and apply it onto the face, leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes. After 20 to 30 minutes, remove the sheet mask and use your fingers to gently massage in any remaining essence left on the face. Continue on with lotion or cream to complete your night time skin care routine.
My Thoughts: I really like this collagen firming mask. It does add plumpness to my skin and brighten it for a bit. What I liked about this mask is that when I used it while having acne, it reduced some of my acne. I am sure the aloe extracts and witch hazel had something to do with it. The fit of this mask is pretty good for my face, the only issue is the nose area (this seems to be a issue for most sheet masks), however, since it is a sheet mask, I can easily modify it to fit my nose area better.
Product Description: This facial sheet mask works to whiten and tone the skin. Pearls have been a precious ingredient used and loved by the ancient royals. Modern medicine research discovered that pearl powder contains trace elements like calcium, magnesium, zinc, and 18 compound amino acids. It has a anti-oxidizing property and can boost the skin's vitality. It can also control the skin's water and oil balance. Aside from pearl powder, this mask also contains ingredients such as camellia, ginkgo, mallow extracts and blackberry extracts that can brighten the skin and improve skin complexion. Apply the mask on cleansed and toned face for 20 to 30 minutes. Gently massage the remaining essence left on the face after you remove the sheet mask. Apply lotion or facial cream after.
My Thoughts: One of the first MBD masks I've ever tried and I like it. I especially like storing these in the fridge before using, as the cool feeling feels so relaxing. I think what I love the most about MBD masks is that they do not irritate my skin. For someone with sensitive and acne prone skin, this is really great and feels like a treat!
Product Description: A facial mask that delivers intensive moisturizing essence to the skin. Recognized as one of the best moisturizing ingredients in skincare, hyaluronic acid works to hydrate the skin, locks in moisture, and maintain a state of healthiness. This facial mask also includes ingredients like algae, fucus and aloe, these work to soothes the skin and making it soft and resilient. To use, apply it onto cleansed and toned face for 20 to 30 minutes then remove. Massage in any remaining essence on the skin.
My Thoughts: I love using these in the winter times when my skin leans combination and not so much oily. It works wonderfully at moisturizing my skin and definitely leaving it nice and smooth. Since I use these in the winter time, I like to warm it up a bit with the steam from my shower, that way it does not feel icy cold when I apply it.
Product Description: A facial mask that controls excess sebum, refines the skin, brightens it and balances it. This mask contains natural strawberry essence that's rich in fruit acids, minerals and enzymes, all of which works to cleanse and moisturize the skin. Combined with the active lactic acid ingredients which will help to balance the oil composition of the skin and may shrink pores to improve the texture of it. Arbutin extracts are added to this mask to restore moisture to damaged skin and giving it a healthy glow. Use it the same way as the masks mentioned above.
My Thoughts: I love (LOVE) this mask. It was also one of the first MBD masks I've tried. Aside from the fact that I have a soft spot for pretty much anything strawberry, this mask smells amazing. I love to use these in the summer because that's when I worry about oil control the most (#oilyskinissues). Pop them into the fridge for 5 minutes before using and they will come out cool to the touch, perfect to combat the summer heat. Don't expect long term miracles with these masks, but they are a great quick fix and will control sebum. Plus, they do not irritate my sensitive skin and no breakouts! Oh, for those entering in the giveaway below, the bonus entry word is strawberry.
Bulgarian White Rose Mask
Product Description: This facial masks works to whiten and soothe the skin. Bulgarian white roses are recognized as some of the world's highest quality variety of roses. They are rich in Vitamins B, C, and E, and are great at moisturizing the skin. With additional ingredients such as red algae and aloe, this mask can provide elasticity to the skin making it plump and supple.
My Thoughts: Roses have been seen as an vital ingredient in skincare for a long time. Even the beauty queen Cleopatra used roses to enhance and maintain her beauty. So it's no surprise that we'd find them in facial masks. I personally love the smell of roses, especially ones fresh in my garden, as it smells so fresh and nice. However, if you are not a fan of rose scent products, you might want to steer clear of this one. This is another mask that I love to use during the summer times because it's great at soothing the skin and if stored in the fridge before using, the mask can have an extra cooling sense to it.
Aloe Mask
Product Description: A sheet mask that is both moisturizing and smoothing. Aloe is known for its many skin care properties such as soothing the skin, reducing acne/redness, moisturizing the skin and more. Together with the other ingredients in this facial mask such as kiwi, lemon, and gingko extracts, it softens the skin to create a youthful and smooth complexion.
My Thoughts: Due to my acne prone and sensitive skin, it seems that I am naturally drawn towards green tea and aloe masks, since both works great to combat these skin issues. This mask definitely soothes my skin and it feels so relaxing once applied. I use this mask year round and always keep a couple on hand, in case of sudden acne break outs. As I find these masks works great to reduce breakouts/redness. Plus, they are not expensive at all!
Black Pearl Mask
Product Description: A facial mask that provides intense whitening and nourishment to the skin. This masks contains luxurious Tahitian black pearl essence that's rich in vitamins, minerals and amino acids. It can deliver nutrients to dull skin making it soft and luminous. This masks also contains deep sea red algae and mallow extracts which works to hydrate the skin and restoring the skin's natural moisture.
My Thoughts: I remember buying and trying this mask because I wanted to see how it would compare to the Pearl Powder mask. I find that the Black Pearl mask brightens a bit better and the effects lasts a bit longer. Like most My Beauty Diary masks, each pouch comes with a lot of essence, and when I say a lot, I really mean A LOT. Although it's not enough to take a mask tablet and make a second sheet mask out of it (I have tried and it doesn't work out well) there's still enough essence to be poured out and used. I like to use the excess essence in my morning routine. It's kind of like the 7 Seconds Morning sheets without the massage pads.
Okay, that's all for the review. Aside from the 7 masks I mentioned above, My Beauty Diary have a lot more mask choices to choose from (over 20 actually). You can find them on YesStyle and Sasa, both are reputable sellers of this brand.
Now, it's giveaway time!
