Pure Smile Choosy Lip Pack: Fruit Review
Hey Dreamers and Creators!
I am back today with another Pure Smile Choosy Lip mask review. Today's lip mask is in the flavor Fruit. I love using these lip masks because they are literally superheros for my dry and chapped lips. They help to moisturize my lips and keep them plump.
The Choosy lip masks come in 2 kinds, the Pearl line and the Original line. Fruit is from the Original line. In the past, I've reviewed both the Pink Pearl and the Purple Pearl. I was going to keep on going with the Pearl line first, however, I decided to give the Fruit a try. It works just as well but with a big downside for me. Keep on reading to find out what it is!
Pure Smile Choosy Lip Pack

Product Description: A hydrogel mask made for the lips. It's formulated with apple fruit extract, grapefruit extract, collagen, jojoba seed oil, lemon fruit extract, sodium hyaluronate, and arbutin as its main ingredients. The lip mask works to hydrate the lips while softening it.
To Use: Cleanse your hands and lips first. Take the mask out of its package and apply it onto the lips. Leave it on for 5 to 30 minutes. Remove after and apply lip balm.
Tip: It's best to do a lip scrub before using these lip masks for full effect.
Ingredients: Water, glycerin, butylene glycol, ceratonia siliqua gum, xanthan gum, hydrolyzed collagen, sodium hyaluronate, citrus aurantifolia (lime) fruit extract, mentha rotundifolia leaf extract, pyrus malus (apple) fruit extract, citrus limon (lemon) fruit extract, niacinamide, calcium pantothenate, sodium ascorbyl phosphate, tocopheryl acetate, pyridoxine HCI, maltodextrin, silica, sodium starch octenysuccinate, citrus paradisi (grapefruit) fruit extract, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, beta-glucan, honey extract, chondrus crispus (carrageenan), piper methysticum leaf/root/stem extract, cetyl ethylhexanoate, allantoin, calcium lactate, polyglutamic acid, arbutin, PEG-60 hydrgenated castor oil, fragrance, methylparaben, phenoxyethanol, disodium EDTA, iron oxide (CI 77492).
Please Do Not use if: you are sensitive to any of its ingredients.
As always, I've highlighted the different main ingredients between each Choosy lip mask. Most of their general ingredients are the same. The only differences are some of its main ingredients, which differentiate them from each other. I've also done this with all my other Choosy lip mask reviews. I have decided to leave out highlighting minor different ingredients, but you can always find a full ingredient list with each of my Choosy lip mask reviews.
Packaging: All Choosy lip masks are packaged the same. I feel like I'm going to be repeating myself for every review. Anyways, for Fruit, the dominate color is orange. The mask on the inside comes with a plastic covering which protects the mask and also helps it from drying out or sticking to the packaging.
Scent: I'm not a big fan of the scent of this Fruit lip mask. While it does have hints of fruit, it's also got a very sour scent to it. Like fruits that's gone sour. I don't think it's pleasant at all. I usually use it with another kind of point masks to cover the scent.
Texture: Like all Choosy lip masks, its got a hydrogel texture.
Color: The Fruit lip mask is opaque orange in color. It's a very light orange as well, as you can see below.
My Thoughts: Out of all the Choosy lip masks I've tried so far, this has to be my least favorite. I thought I would really like it since it's Fruit scented, however, the scent is just awful. Like fruits turned sour kind of scent, totally not pleasant at all. Aside from the scent, I found that it also dries a little faster than the masks from the Pearl line.
The lip mask is moisturizing though and softens the lips too. It does have some amazing extracts in its formulation, which is nice. Unfortunately, this lip mask in Fruit is just not for me. It was fine during patch test but after I used it for 30 minutes I found it made an area on top of my upper lip red. At first I thought it would go away, however, the next day it formed into a small pimple. It sucks, because this is the first time it's happened with a Choosy lip mask. Guess Fruit just isn't for me.
There is a technique I like to use with Choosy masks to help plump up my lips. Obviously, I didn't try this with these Fruit lip masks, since it caused me a pimple. However, I do this from time to time with my other Choosy lip masks. Basically, I would wear the lip masks for longer than 30 minutes, when I do, it can add some plumpness to my lips. Remember the rather dangerous lip challenge that was floating around the internet? It uses suction to create fuller/plumpier lips. Well the lip mask can do that on a smaller scale and it's quite safe too. Basically, after you apply the lip mask onto your lips, suck the air out of the space between it and your lips. Keep it tight like that until it starts to feel a little tight and dry. I usually leave it on for about an hour because the edges dry faster. The good thing is that it doesn't become unpleasant. I always remove the lip mask before the 2 hours mark because I don't like it when the mask on top of the lips becomes completely dry. After that, I always find my lips to look a little more plump than before.
Pros:
-moisturizes
-softens lips
Cons:
-unpleasant fragrance
- do not lick after use, doesn't taste pleasant
- caused me to break out (1 pimple)
My Rating: ❤ ❤ ♡ ♡ ♡
Final Thoughts: Unfortunately, this Pure Smile Choosy Lip mask was not kind to me so I couldn't like it. It caused me some issues when it decided to cause a pimple above my upper lip. It's going to take some time for the pimple to go away. It also doesn't come with a pleasant scent either, which I found disappointing. Since I thought Fruit was going to smell lovely.
Would I repurchase this in the future? Probably not. This Choosy lip mask in Fruit didn't work for me. I know other Choosy lip masks that doesn't cause these issues, so I can use those instead. Do I think this mask is worth trying. Well, it depends. If it won't break you out and you mind its scent, than it's worth a try, Otherwise, there are plenty of other Choosy lip masks to try.
